Joint Mobility – Shoulder, hip, back, knees, etc…

Hey everyone, i’m going to be relaying the joint mobility workouts from the Crossfit mobility master Kelly Starrett. I’ll post these mobility workouts as the come up. They focus on dynamic stretching and other techniques to improve joint mobility.

Please follow these and try to implement them into your daily workout. Some of the joint mobility work is better to be done before the workout and other work is better to be done afterwards.

The important thing is that you are getting it in! ;)

Low Back Over Extension – Results Fitness

Hey everyone,

This a topic that I frequently bring up with my athletes. Low back over extension, while locked-out overhead.

I see it all too often and we need to work on this. Yes “we”… unfortunately, even your coach places himself in this vulnerable position from time to time (so if you see me doing it give me a smack!)

The cause can be a number of factors, but the one that is most often overlooked is the hipflexors at the top of your quad. If you can open up the hip here, it’s going to move you into a stronger position while overhead, protecting your low back. Here’s a great video from the Crossfit mobility expert, Kelly Starrett. The end of it really helps to address the problem.

Alex’s Crossfit WOD “Diabolical”

Hey everyone, hope you all had an amazing long weekend! Todays workout is posted below, but first have a look at Alex’s crossfit workout from last week. I’m not sure of the actually name for it but it’s rumored to be “diabolical”.

A few more of us are going to give it a go this week and give him a run for his money ;)

The WOD is grace + fran + 1mile run or 135# clean and jerk x30reps, 21,15,9reps of 95# thrusters + pullups and top it with a 1 mile run. Enjoy

Five rounds for time of:
Row 250 meters
135 pound Front squat, 10 reps
15 GHD Sit-ups
20 Box jumps, 24 inch box
